p'raps I am being a bit too sentimental, tho. I think of Billie Holiday, too. Her book, Lady Sings The blues, will live forever. Strange Fruit. I kinda think of Nina Simone as Lady Raises the Fist.

I also think that Chicago book on the Blues is a piece of academic garbage.
I need to re-read Mingus' book, Beneath The Underdog.
